Starting from Scratch

We close tomorrow afternoon at 3:30.

In the last couple of weeks I have:

*picked out my first appliances I will own

*bought more primer than I know what to do with

*spent more in one Lowe's trip than my first car

*picked out, matched/put together cabinets, counters, tiles and paint color- its alot harder than it sounds starting from scratch!

*seen the Lord work in ways I can't even explain. Who knew one day you could walk into Lowe's, pick out three different appliances and as they ring them up say "oh yeh, these are all on sale" despite what the sign says. In that very same trip we "won" a free gallon of paint and primer. The Lord is blessing us in HUGE and little ways that are such a reminder that we are following Him in this adventure!

*ordered carpet- did you know it comes in 12 or 15 ft rolls? And you pay for it in that amount so if you don't use all of it, you still pay for it? who knew.

*packed more crap than I could imagine that we owned. and we're not even halfway done.

*had blessing after blessing of people giving us furniture, appliances, offering help and support- its doesn't go unnoticed and we SO appreciate it!

I'm super excited and nervous but also totally at peace with being right in the Lords hands. Every last detail He has ordained and it has been perfect. I am thankful beyond belief for a God that cares so much about the big AND the little things- and all things we never even needed.

At some point I do have photos to show of our disaster zone we are currently living in. I'm kind of embarrassed at the condition of our place, but I guess it happens to everyone in the process of moving? :)

Let the fun begin!! (not a very pretty photo post)

This week is a big first for Joel and I- We, at some point in the next two weeks, are closing on our first place. A little two bedroom condo just about 10 minutes from where we live now. We are so excited and it will be a blast but there is lots of work yet to be done... please note the dark hi-gloss horribly painted rooms EVERYWHERE! I, for the first time this weekend, purchased a FIVE gallon bucked of primer- and that probably won't be the last of it! :)

*a snippet of the task ahead of us- really?

*there is every shade of the rainbow throughout this place- included: a baby blue garage

*the deceivingly in tact bathroom- there are three layers of flooring stacked on top of each other, causing the doors not to close

We are so excited and ready to be moved in and ready to go but know it will be a fun project in the time being. Let the priming begin!
